MD in Skin and Venereal Disease, also referred to as MD Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy, is a 3-year postgraduate course which focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions and diseases, as well as the management of diseases related to hair, voice, and so on. It includes the disciplines of Dermatology, which deals with the skin, hair, and nails. Master of Doctor (MD) in Skin & VD provides thorough teaching regarding clinical dermatology, aesthetic procedures, dermatosurgery, dermatopathology, dermoscopy, pediatric dermatology, hair treatment or trichology, laser treatments, venereology and HIV medicine. Students are also exposed to diagnosing and managing conditions like eczema, psoriasis, acne, fungal infections, hair loss, allergies, autoimmune skin diseases, pigmentary disorders, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
