Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in VLSI and Embedded System Design is a 2 year postgraduate engineering course divided into 4 semesters that teaches candidates to establish themselves as professionals in VLSI designing, embedded systems, semiconductor technology, and hardware-software co-design. This course is applicable to industries that deal with the design, development, testing, and application of integrated circuits, embedded hardware, and software systems. This can range from consumer electronics to medical or aerospace applications.
In the age of Industry 4.0-a game changing tool, IoT, AI (Artificial Intelligence), autonomous system, and advanced computing, VLSI and Embedded System Design are becoming an essential part of our lives. These technologies can have huge consequences for everything from smart-phones and medical instruments, to electric cars and defense systems. M.Tech VLSI and Embedded System Design are for the candidates who have passed B.E./B.TECH in ECE for specialising in design and technical aspects of VLSI, chip design, SoC’s and real time embedded system applications.
As India becomes a leading semiconductor hub, world demands for VLSI and Embedded System engineers are rising at a high pace. This course provides advanced theoretical concepts, hands-on design skills, and exposure to research needed by the semiconductor industry, product-based companies, and R&D institutions, as well as academic institutions.
The programme balances theoretical basics with laboratory experiments, industry projects, internships, and a mandatory dissertation. They are exposed to industry standard tools like Cadence, Synopsys, MATLAB, and FPGA development platforms, thus making them ready for innovative engineering issues in the industry.
