Karnataka NEET Counselling Eligibility Criteria:
Completed 10+2/ 2nd PUC or equivalent
Scored minimum 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology
Qualified in NEET UG examination
Students must ensure their eligibility for admission to the relevant courses. If students are found to be ineligible at a later stage by the concerned authorities, their candidature will be cancelled and they may be liable for legal action.
The next step in the process is the verification of documents as per the Karnataka NEET counselling 2024 schedule. It must be noted that ONLY candidates who have completed the registration process may participate in the document verification process. Candidates are required to produce the originals of the prescribed documents and 1 set of attested documents depending on the category of the seat they are applying for. If the candidate is unable to produce any of the documents for NEET counselling on the verification day, then the candidate will be considered ineligible for the further rounds of counselling.
Verification of Documents Procedure:
The original documents furnished by the candidates will be verified against the entries made by them in their application form. After verification, the original documents will be returned and the KEA will retain the attested photocopies of all the documents. Finally, an acknowledgement cum verification slip will be issued as proof of eligibility. The acknowledgement cum verification slip will contain details like documents verified, caste category, merit/ rank, eligibility for stream. No changes/ claim to change will be entertained by the KEA once the documents are verified and verification slip is issued. Candidates will be provided with a high security secret key after the verification procedure. This high security secret key must be used by the candidate to register and create a password for logging into the online option entry portal. This password is important to access the option entry portal through which the candidate can enter the options, modify the options, and delete options, if necessary. This portal is also important for printing the allotment details.
Note: KCET-2024 qualified candidates who completed the KCET-2024 document verification process and who do not claim any additional reservations need not verify their documents again. However, such candidates need to download the verification slip of UGNEET-2024 from the official website of KEA to apply for Medical and Dental courses.
This may be the single most important part of the Karnataka NEET-UG counselling process since the allotment of seats completely depends on the priority list of options given by the candidates in this stage. Candidates must go through the seat matrix (a list of seats available college-wise, course-wise and category-wise) and enter the course/ college of their choice. Only candidates who have successfully completed the document verification process will be allowed to enter their preferred options via the option entry portal.
Note: KEA will hold a combinedOption entry process for KCET and NEET-UG courses. If candidates are eligible for more than one discipline then they can enter their choices as per their preference.
KEA NEET Counselling Choice Filling Tips and Tricks:
This stage of the counselling process cannot be completed without due diligence on the student’s part. Here are a few trips to utilise the choice-filling option to the maximum and tricks to simplify the process.
Do your research about as many colleges as possible and enter them all in the portal. Start with colleges that you value the most and then enter colleges that are your backup in case you’re not allotted the colleges you mention first.
Go through the previous years’ seat allotment list and read up about colleges that were allotted to students around your rank. If those colleges provide the courses you have in mind and are conveniently accessible, add those to the top of your list.
Consult with students who are studying their final year/ completing their internship in the interested colleges. Discuss faculty, caseload and other relevant details before making a decision.
Factors to consider while choosing a college:
College Infrastructure
Course available in college
Distance from the place of residence
Hostel facilities
KEA Option Entry Steps:
Step 1: Enter the preliminary details to access the option entry form.
Step 2: Enter the secret key and valid password.
Step 3: Enter the course in the option entry form.
Step 4: Select the preferred college from the list of colleges which will be displayed.
Step 5: Enter the priority number against the college and repeat until satisfied with the option entry.
Step 6: Click on ‘Submit’ and log out.
The Karnataka NEET UG mock allotment serves to provide an indication to the candidate as to the quality of their choice fillings. Students can access the Karnataka NEET UG mock allotment results on the official website of the KEA. Details about cut-off ranks and seats allotted will also be made available on the same portal. These Karnataka NEET UG mock allotment results are not to be construed as confirmation of seat allotment, candidates may or may not get the same seat in the final Karnataka NEET UG result 2024. Students who aren’t happy with their seat allotment are given one more chance to add/ delete/ reorder their options. Candidates who have not been allotted any seat must consider it a warning sign and add more options in the priority order list. After making the required changes in the priority order list (or leaving it as is), students must verify their allotted seat status on the KEA website.
Karnataka NEET UG 2024 seat allotment will be done in 2 rounds which consist of 3 phases each. If any seat remains vacant after the 2 rounds, a mop-up round may be conducted for all categories of seats.
Karnataka NEET UG First Round Counselling 2024:
The Karnataka NEET UG 2024 seat allotment for the 1st round will take place after the last date for entering the options. The round will begin with the 1st phase of allotment. Special category seats for PwD, NCC and Sports Category candidates will be allotted first in this phase. In the 2nd phase of allotment, seats will be offered only to reserved category candidates. In the 3rd phase, General Merit candidates will be considered for allocation along with reserved category candidates. To summarise, the seats available are reduced at each stage before moving on to the next stage. In case the seat is not allotted, it will be allotted to the next candidate as per rank and options. This way, there will be a great number of iterations till candidates are allotted the best seat of their choice as dictated by their rank. The above-mentioned phases/ iterations are part of Round 1 and further KEA NEET UG 2024 counselling rounds will be conducted until every seat in the seat matrix is allotted to meritorious candidates. The KEA also provides the opportunity to virtually track the process of allotment after the allotment process is completed.
Karnataka NEET UG 2nd Round Counselling:
The KEA NEET 2nd round counselling is a great opportunity for candidates to get better seats than they were allotted in the first round. There will be no option to enter new preferences in this round (unless new colleges come into the seat matrix). Candidates can alter their option by deleting and rearranging the priority order. If a candidate does not get a seat in this round, then the previous seat allotment stands confirmed.
The following seats will be filled in this Round:
Unfilled seats of Round 1
Choice 3 seats of Round 1
Choice 4 seats of Round 1
Cancelled/ Surrendered seats
Newly added seats (if any)
Consequential vacancies
Choice 1 seats but candidates failed to make payment.
Choice 2 seats but failed to make payment.
Types of candidates eligible for Round 2:
Choice 2 candidates of Round 1 who have made payment
Choice 3 candidates of Round 1
Not allotted any seat in Round 1
Types of candidates not eligible for Round 2:

Candidates who have exercised Choice 1 after Round 1 but failed to collect admission order.
Candidates who have surrendered/ cancelled their allotted seats after Round 1.
Karnataka NEET Mop-up Round:
After the completion of Round 1 and Round 2, Mop-up rounds will be conducted to fill up the remaining seats. This will be conducted offline at the KEA premises. Candidates must be present personally for the counselling process. An entry pass will be issued to each candidate and their guardian. Not every candidate who has registered for the 1st or the 2nd KEA NEET UG 2024 counselling rounds is eligible to participate in the Mop-up Round.
