The University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), also known as GKVK Agriculture University, was established in 1963. It was the first state agricultural university in Karnataka. UAS, Bangalore, was inaugurated by Dr. Zakir Hussain, the Vice President of India, on August 21st, 1964. The GKVK campus was inaugurated on July 12th, 1969, by the then Prime Minister of India. To expand agricultural education, UAS, Bangalore, ensured a broad geographic spread of its teaching, research, and many more in different regions covering ten districts of Karnataka.
It offers admission to various programs offered at UG, PG, and Doctorate levels. It offers three undergraduate degree programs, 23 Postgraduate programs and 16 Doctoral Degree programs for eligible candidates. The University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, fees for all Agricultural Courses are affordable by students belonging to all sections of the society. UAS, Bangalore, aims to make agricultural education responsive to the growing and changing needs of society. It envisions establishing a dynamic agricultural system education to train highly skilled and competent manpower addressing various challenges in the field.

Crop Museum:
