Master of Surgery Shalya is a 3-year postgraduate degree course offered by many recognized Ayurveda colleges and universities all over India. The National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) regulates the course and the curriculum includes advanced surgical sciences, Ayurvedic operative techniques and para-surgical procedures.

Throughout the MS Shalya syllabus students learn surgical subjects, such as surgical anatomy, surgical pathology, operative surgery, Ksharasutra therapy, Agnikarma, wound healing and trauma management and addressing anorectal disorders.
