What Happens in NEET Counselling?
After clearing the NEET-UG examination, students must go through the counselling process. Counselling is the process through which meritorious students are allocated seats in various Medical/ Dental/ AYUSH institutes throughout the country. The counselling process will happen only through online mode.
MCC NEET UG counselling 2024 is conducted for the following seats:
15% of AIQ Seats in all Medical and Dental colleges (including Union Territory of JK)
100% of seats in Deemed Universities
15% AIQ in Central Universities
100% Seats in AIIMS & JIPMER
100% Seats in Banaras Hindu University,
100% Seats in Aligarh Muslim University
85% State Quota seats in Delhi University
85% State Quota Seats in I.P University (VMMC/ ABVIMS/ ESIC Dental)
100% Faculty of Dentistry (Jamia Millia Islamia) seats along with 5% internal Quota of Jamia students
15% IP quota seats of ESIC.
Every year, seats are allotted to students through AIQ and State Quota. 15% of the total seats are reserved for AIQ. Generally, the MCC NEET-UG Counselling cut-off for AIQ is higher than the State Quota cut-off.The AIQ MCC NEET-UG Counselling Process 2024 will have 4 rounds. Open States for NEET-UG Counselling:
Students can acquire a seat anywhere in India through AIQ. But, there are some States in India called Closed States, where only students from their own State are allowed for admissions. On the other hand, Open States are those states where qualified students from any part of the country can apply and pursue their studies.

Before the MCC NEET counselling registration for each round begins, the Seat Matrix for students will be released.
MCC NEET-UG Seat Matrix:
MCC announces the seat matrix for various courses. Seat matrix provides information on the number of seats available in every college. The cut-off will be high if the number of seats provided by the colleges are less. As per their result and seat matrix students can decide which college to opt for before the commencement of counselling rounds. Before jumping into Round 1 Counselling details, let’s understand some terminologies like Choice Filling and Locking of Choices and their procedures.
What does Choice Filling and Locking of Choices mean?
NEET Counselling Choice Filling:
Choice Filling is the process where students get to choose the college and course of their choice.
Procedure:
After they log in, students need to click on the ‘Choice Filling’ tab. The choices will be displayed on the left.
Students can pick the course and college by clicking on the ‘+’ button provided against each option. Their choices will be displayed on the right side after they click on the ‘+’ button.
They can choose as many choices as they wish, alter their choices and also arrange them in the order they prefer.
After the selection of courses, students need to click on the ‘Save & Continue’ button to save their list of choices.
Locking of Choices:
Locking of Choices is the process where the choices submitted by a student are locked .
Procedure:
After completing the choice submission process students need to click on the ‘Lock Choice’ tab on the left.
The list of submitted choices will be displayed on the screen.
Students can cross verify their choices for the last time before they enter their password and click on the ‘Lock my Choices’ button.
Choices cannot be changed after they have been locked.
MCC NEET-UG counselling 2024 registration date will be released for the online NEET counselling choice filling of Round 1. Once the registration window opens, students need to follow the steps mentioned below and complete their registration with relevant documents and pay the MCC NEET-UG registration fees. The information of the documents required for NEET Counselling will be known only during the registration process. Only students who have qualified in the NEET-UG entrance exam can register for the 1st Round of Counselling. Students who apply more than once will be debarred from the counselling rounds.

Steps for Round 1 MCC NEET-UG Counselling Registration 2024:
Step 1: Visit the official website of MCC.
Step 2: Search for Round 1 registration link and click on it. You will be redirected to the registration page.
Step 3: If not registered before, click on ‘New Registration’ and fill in the basic information to generate the login credentials, else login using the credentials.
Step 4: Click on the ‘Available Choices’ tab provided on the left. The available choices as per the candidates basic information will be displayed.
Step 5: Click on the ‘Choice Filling’ tab. Select the college and course of your choice and click on ‘Save & Continue’.
(Note: You can alter and delete the choices as per your preference)
Step 6: After you finalise the ‘choice submission’ select the ‘Lock Choice’ tab on the left and click on ‘Lock My Choices’ button.
(Note: Once Choices are locked it cannot be altered)
Step 7: Take a print out of the Locked choices for future reference.
The MCC NEET-UG counselling result will be released a few days after the Round 1 registration window is closed. Candidates need to report to the allotted colleges and submit the required documents once the MCC NEET-UG 2024 allotment list is released. If candidates are interested to enter NEET second Round Counselling to upgrade their seats, they can do so by reporting to the allotted college.
Documents Required for Admissions in the Alloted College:
Original documents are required during college admissions. These are the same documents required for NEET-UG counselling.
For Indian candidates:
Along with the above documents, NRI candidates need to have: The NEET 2nd Round Counselling is conducted for AIQ, Central Universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, Deemed Universities, AMU, BHU and B.Sc Nursing colleges. Candidates who were not allotted any seat after round 1 registration need not register again. They need to follow the same procedure as Round 1 to choose the college and course and lock their seat. What happens in Round 2 Counselling? Seats available from Round 1 and Fresh Seat (if any) are added for NEET Counselling Round 2. Eligible candidates can register for Round 2 and apply for a seat when the registration window is open. Candidates need to submit fresh choices during the choice submission process. The locked choice of every candidate will be processed and results will be released. After the MCC NEET-UG Counselling result is released, students need to submit relevant documents in the allotted college. Candidates Eligible for Second Counselling Round: Registered candidates who were not allotted any seat in Round 1. Registered candidates whose allotted seat of Round 1 got cancelled during the document verification process due to change of: Category from Reserved to Unreserved PH status from Yes to No PH status from PH-1 to PH-2 will be given a change based on the availability of seats in the respective category. Candidates who have submitted the Second Round up-gradation as ‘Yes’ after reporting to the allotted institute post the First Round of Counselling. Candidates who have not registered in Round 1. (need to pay the full MCC NEET-UG Counselling fees) Non-Eligible Candidates for Round 2: Candidates who have not reported to the allotted college during the reporting period after Round Candidates who reported and withdrew from Counselling at the allotted Institute. Candidates who were not eligible due to a change in category. Candidates who did not opt for up-gradation after Round 1. MCC NEET-UG Counselling 2024 Tentative Dates for Round 2: The MCC NEET-UG Counselling Mop-Up round is conducted for AIQ, Central Universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, Deemed Universities, AMU, BHU and B.Sc Nursing colleges. Candidates need to submit fresh choices for the Mop-up round. What happens in the MCC NEET-UG Mop-up Round (Round 3)? After the seat matrix is announced, students can start their registration process for the Mop-Up Round when the registration window is open. They need to follow the same choice filling steps as Round 1 and lock their seats. After the registration window is closed the choice filling of every student will be processed and the NEET counselling seat allotment result will be announced. Students need to report to the allotted college and submit the required documents. Eligible candidates for MCC NEET-UG mop-up round 2024 (Round 3): Candidates who have registered in Round 2 and exited with a loss of fees can register. They need to pay the complete MCC NEET-UG 2024 counselling fees needed for registration. Candidates who were not allotted any type of seats in Round 1 and Round 2. Non-eligible candidates for Mop-up Round (Round 3): Candidates who have joined their allotted institute after Round 2.
