Tumkur University, Tumkur, was established in 2004 and has been recognized as an institute of higher learning. The institute conforms to the educational standards of high-profile national and international institutions. The State University was established to cater to the educational needs of the State with a special emphasis on the Tumakuru district. The institute aims to inculcate an education which will lead to high-quality research and sustainable development of society. Tumkur University Syllabus has been designed in such a way that graduates will be employable immediately after graduation. This is achieved by imparting professional skills along with book knowledge. This is achieved by hand-picked faculty who are well-read. The Institute's academic and physical infrastructure encourages excellence in the classroom.
