The Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (KVAFSU) was established under the Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries University Act in 2004. It was established exclusively for the development of education, learning, and research. It provides various Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) programs for eligible candidates. Karnataka Veterinary University also offers Ph.D. programs with multiple specializations. The university was established after realizing the loss of two decades of prime development in agriculture, animal husbandry, dairy, fisheries, etc.
KVAFSU, being an autonomous academic institute, is governed by the Board of Management that regulates the university policies following the provision of acts and statutes. KVAFSU, Bidar, ensures to extend its service to the farmers of the country in the form of saving animal lives. It strives to provide leadership in teaching and research education services related to veterinary, animal sciences, dairy sciences, fisheries, etc.
