The Karnataka Samskrit University is one of a kind institute established in 2010. It was set up to promote the overall development of the Samskrit Language. Samskrit language has a rich tradition of knowledge synthesis that has contributed to the overall development of all the branches of learning. Being one of the oldest languages, it has contributed to poetry, drama, dance, sculpture, paintings, fine arts, and many more. KSU University was set up to promote higher-earning, research and comprehensive development in Samskrit.
Established by the Government of Karnataka, it promotes the study of Samskrit language and literature that was greatly encouraged by the kings of Mysore. There are 31 Samskrit Colleges in Karnataka, with 243 aided Veda and Samskrita Pathashalas. The university is on a mission to attract students towards Samskrit from all over the world.
Karnataka Samskrit University Distance Education is also offered for the students wishing to pursue higher studies. The university was established by the Government of Karnataka and managed by the Samskrit Pathashalas. All the programs offered at the university cover a wide range of well-researched and career-oriented Sanskrit languages and literature.

Library:
The library was established with Sri Chamarajendra Samskrit College in the 19th century. The university envisions preserving and maintaining ancient manuscripts that have significant historical or aesthetic value. It has books, manuscripts, thesis and journals to satisfy the information needs of the academic fraternity. Currently, the library is stocked up with 8000 books on Veda, Upanishads, Dharmashastra, Puranas and Mahakavyas (literature) written in the Sanskrit language. It also has 2,300 books written in Samskrit, Kannada and English language.
Hostel:
The University also provides facilities for the candidates in need of accommodation. Hostel facilities are offered for the students with all the necessary facilities and amenities.
