The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has officially postponed the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test - Post Graduate (NEET-PG) 2025 examination to August 03, 2025. The decision comes in response to a directive from the Supreme Court of India, which ruled that the exam must be conducted in a single shift, rather than the two shifts that were initially scheduled for June 15, 2025.
On May 30, 2025, the Supreme Court deemed the two-shift format to be “arbitrary and unfair,” citing possible disparities between morning and afternoon sessions, mandating a single-shift exam to ensure fairness and transparency. Following this, the NBEMS issued an official notice confirming the postponement and cited the need to arrange additional test centres and infrastructure as the primary reason for the delay. With the new date for NEET-PG 2025 announced, candidates are advised to regularly check the official website of NBEMS for further updates.
