On September 26, 2024, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) issued a notice affirming to allow candidates to resign the seats that were allotted to them during Round 1 and Round 2 of the NEET-UG 2024 counselling session. The candidates who wish to resign their Round-1 and Round-2 seats can do so until October 01, 2024 (5:00 PM). Following are the Resignation Instructions: Candidates of Round 1 who were not upgraded in Round 2 may resign their seats without losing their security deposit, provided they do so within the allotted time period. Newly allotted candidates of Round 2 who accepted their seats but wish to withdraw them now may do so during the resignation period of time. However, must forfeit their security deposit. Candidates who were promoted during Round 2 and took the upgraded seats but decided to leave the seats can resign within the allotted resignation period with forfeiture of their security deposit. Candidates need to physically report at the allotted colleges to withdraw their seats. Candidates are requested to make sure that the Resignation letters are generated online (through the MCC assigned portal) otherwise the resignation would be deemed as ‘Null & Void’.
