What is LSAT?

Law School Admission Test (LSAT) is a national-level law entrance exam conducted by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC).

Law School Admission Test forms an integral part of law school admissions in countries such as the USA, Canada, and others. The score is also accepted by many law colleges and universities in India.

LSAT Registration:

Candidates can register for Law School Admission Test 2022 by following the below-mentioned steps: 

Step 1: Visit the official website of Discover Law. 
Step 2: Click on the tab - "Register for the LSAT India".
Step 3: Candidates have to click on "Sign Up". 
Step 4: They have to provide their Name, Country, Email ID, Password, State City, and the course they would like to choose. 
Step 5: Click on "Sign Up". 

After the process, candidates have to log in using their Email ID and Password to fill up the application form. 

How to fill up the LSAT 2022 Application form?  

Step 1: Visit the official website of Discover Law. 
Step 2: Click on the tab - "Register for the LSAT India".
Step 3: Click on "Log In".
Step 4: Candidates should log in using their credentials. 
Step 5: They have to provide Personal Information, Address, Educational Information, and other Additional Information. 
Step 6: Candidates have to pay the required fees. Also, they need to upload their passport-size photograph (Size: 500 KB and Format: JPEG or PNG), and a photo of their Government approved ID. 
Step 7: Submit the application form.

How can candidates answer the LSAT India 2022 exam?  

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Law School Admission Test will be conducted in the remote online proctored mode.

Candidates can answer the exam from the comforts of their home by booking a favourable slot. 

If they want to change or reschedule their exam slots, then they should write to discoverlawindia@lsac.org. The request should be received before the end of the "Rescheduling Window".

Technical Requirements: 

LSAT Exam India can be accessed through desktop computers or laptops with specific technical requirements. Candidates have to adhere to the following requirements for the exam: 

  • A system with Windows 8 Professional Edition or Higher
  • 2 to 4 GB of RAM
  • The system should have an i3 processor or higher
  • Attached or integrated Web Camera
  • Good and consistent Internet
  • Minimum Web Browser version requirement: Chrome Version 82.0, Firefox Version 68, and macOS 10.12 
  • Free hard disk space of 15 GB 

Candidates have to take the system verification before the exam. If the verification process fails, then candidates have to get it done again with a replacement system. Those not passing the system verification will not be permitted for the exam.

Candidates can prepare for Law School Admission Test with these strategic preparation tips: 

  • Candidates should have a detailed idea of the LSAT Syllabus for preparing a preparation plan for the exam. 
  • Candidates should read extensively as the sections of the exam will require them to read and analyze every minute detail to answer the questions. 
  • For analytical and logical reasoning, candidates should prepare from various resources to help them get a clearer understanding of the topics. 
  • Candidates should follow a well laid-out preparation schedule, which should be followed without fail. 
  • Candidates should practise LSAT Mock Tests to get acquainted with the exam pattern and the kind of questions. It will also help them to devise a strategy to answer the questions. 
  • Lastly, candidates should keep themselves mentally and physically fit to ace the examination with a good score. 
What to do on the LSAT Entrance Exam Day?

Following are the steps that candidates need to keep in mind on the exam day: 

  • Candidates have to do their system verification before the exam day. 
  • Candidates are allowed to keep only pencils, sharpeners, erasers, and 2 plain unmarked sheets. They can also keep beverages, but they should be in a transparent container.  
  • They should ensure a stable internet connection. If the candidate gets disconnected during the exam, then their progress shall be saved, and they can restart from where they left. 
  • Disconnection of more than 30 minutes will invite termination of the exam. Candidates can submit their appeal with the examination authority, and they can get a retest opportunity after proper inspection.
  • Candidates should dress-up appropriately and shouldn't wear extra layers for any sort of misconduct during the exam. 
  • Candidates cannot wear headphones, earphones, or earbuds during the exam. They can only use foam-style earplugs for noise cancellation. 

Candidates must answer their exam from a place where there are no interruptions, and they should warn their family members against doing that.

LSAT Scores: 

LSAT scores will be declared by LSAC a few weeks after the exam. Candidates will receive an email notification regarding the score, which they can download from the official website. 

Law School Admission Test scores will be valid for 5 years. However, candidates should check the requirements of the law school as to which year's course they shall accept. 

LSAT Scholarships: 

Law School Admission Test Topper Scholarship will be awarded to the highest scorer in the exam. An amount of Rs. 4 lakh will be given as a scholarship amount. 

The test takers should have applied for the 5-year Integrated LLB Program and not for the 3-year LLB or 2-year LLM Programs. The candidate must also be an Indian citizen and must have got into a 5-year Integrated LLB Program at any of the LSAC Affiliated Law Schools. 

In case of a tie, the scholarship amount will be distributed amongst all the eligible candidates. They shouldn't receive any scholarships from other sources because they shall not be eligible to avail the LSAT Topper Scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates have to meet the following eligibility criteria for LSAT: 

Bachelor of Legislative Law (LLB) Programs:

  • Candidates need to complete their graduation from any of the recognized universities in India. 
  • They need to secure a minimum of 45% in their graduation. 

Integrated LLB Programs: 

  • Candidates have to complete their 12th standard from any of the recognized educational institutions in India. 
  • A minimum mark of 45% is required in their 12th standard final examination. 

Master of Legislative Law (LLM) Programs:

  • Candidates must have completed their LLB degree from a recognized law school in India.
  • Also, they must have scored a minimum of 45% in their LLB to pursue this course.
