What is INI CET?
Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI CET) is a national level entrance exam conducted by AIIMS for admission into postgraduate medical courses.
AIIMS PG, JIPMER PG, PGIMER and NIMHANS medical entrance exams were scrapped in 2020 and were replaced by INI CET.

INI CET allows students to seek admissions in the postgraduate courses of the following medical colleges:
- All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur and Rishikesh
- Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) in Pondicherry
- National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences (NIMHANS) in Bengaluru
- Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh

The registration process for the exam began on September 5, 2022 and will end on September 26, 2022.
Aspirants applying for the exam should have an MBBS/ BDS degree from a recognized institute by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or Dental Council of India (DCI). They should have completed their 1 year mandatory internship.

INI CET Registration:
Candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps to register for INI CET 2022:
Basic Registration:
Step 1: Visit the official website of INI CET
Step 2: Click on "Academic course" from the list and select your preferred course.
Step 3: Proceed by clicking on "New Registration" and reading all the instructions.
Step 4: Enter all the primary information in the form. Click on the check box after reading the declaration.
Step 5: Click on "Generate Registration ID and Password". Registration ID will be displayed on the screen.
How to fill up the INI CET Application Form?
Step 1: Visit the official website of INI CET
Step 2: Click on "INI CET 2022 Application Form."
Step 3: Aspirants need to log in using their credentials.
Step 4: After logging in, they need to add Personal and Educational Details.
Step 5: Aspirants need to upload the required documents as an authentication for the details mentioned above. In addition to these, they also have to upload their photographs and signatures.
Step 6: If the status of the application is accepted, candidates can move on to the next step of generating code. If the status shows rejected, rectify the application form and resubmit it.
Step 7: Generate the Registration Unique Code (RUC) by logging in and hitting on "Generate Unique Code" and note it down.
Step 8: After saving and submitting the above details, aspirants will have to pay the required application fees.
Step 9: After paying the fees, the final submission of the application form shall be completed.

INI CET Counselling:
Candidates who have qualified by securing the minimum percentage of marks in INI CET can take part in the counselling to get admission in the postgraduate medical programs offered by the Institutes of National Importance (INIs).
INI CET Counselling will be conducted by AIIMS, New Delhi in 4 rounds, namely - Mock Round, 1st Round, 2nd Round, and Open Round.
- The entire counselling process will take place online.
- Before signing up for the INI CET counselling session, candidates must go through the information bulletin.
- All the information and announcements regarding the counselling rounds and allotment will be published on the official website.
Eligible candidates need to follow the below-mentioned steps for INI CET counselling:
Step 1: Registration Process
Candidates need to create new credentials for the counselling process by logging into the official website of AIIMS and entering all the required information.
Step 2: Saving Preferences
Log in to the official website of AIIMS by using the new credentials and enter the preferred institute and course in a specific form. Ensure to save and lock to avoid any misplace of data.
After login, go to "My Choice", select your preferred institute, and hit on "Add Choice".
Continue to fill the form similarly and click on the "SAVE" button after completion. Review your preferences and submit once confirmed.
Step 3: Seat Allotment
Based on the preferences submitted, candidates need to check the seat allotment list published on the website.
Step 4: Submission of Preferences for Final Round
Candidates are given a chance to modify their preferences before allotting the seat for the final round.
If candidates fail, they will be disqualified from the counselling session and their admission process will stand cancelled for that academic year.
Step 5: Seat Allotment for Final Round
After the final selection process is completed, candidates must check the official website to know the seat allotment.
Step 6: Seat Allotment Confirmation
Candidates must log in to the INI CET website using the new credentials for counselling after checking the allotment list and select the options from the given list.
They can go ahead with the seat allotted to them or withdraw from further counselling of INI CET.
They can also accept the seat allotted to them and take part in another counselling session.
Option for rejecting the allotted seat and going for the upcoming rounds is also provided.
Step 7: Verification Of Documents
Aspirants who have been allotted seats in the counselling process of INI CET have to report to their concerned institutes. They have to carry their original and a self-attested copy of their documents.

Eligibility Criteria
INI CET aspirants have to meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for the exam:
- Aspirants should hold an MBBS/ BDS degree from a recognized institute in India and complete the mandatory internship of 1 year.
- They must have registered themselves with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or Dental Council of India (DCI)
- General category aspirants should obtain an aggregate score of 55%, while the candidates from the reserved category such as SC & ST should secure an aggregate score of 50% in their bachelor"s course.
