Course detail and Structure
The 3-year course trains the students to treat trauma, congenital disorders, facial infections, and cancer in the neck and head region. They are given exposure to in-house micro-surgeries. They are trained exclusively in Dental Implants and LASERS in Maxillofacial Surgery. Besides hands-on training, students also submit research presentations for their final evaluation.
Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Candidates should have completed a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from any college or university recognised by the Dental Council of India (DCI) or the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). They should have secured qualifying marks in NEET MDS.

An Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon performs surgical procedures on the oral and facial regions such as the jaws, neck, face, teeth, and the salivary glands. They perform facial reconstructive and cosmetic surgeries. They collaborate with other specialists as and when required. They are trained to perform biopsies found in the oral and maxillofacial regions. A trained Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon is capable of administering correct dosage of anesthesia before surgery.
