Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSIMSR) was established in 2023, in the state of Karnataka. Known as India's First Free Medical College, the institute has one academic block and two teaching hospitals for students. Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research was established by Prashanthi Balamandira Trust. It is a private institute affiliated to Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence. The main objective of Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Chikkaballapur, Karnataka is to provide high quality education to students who reside in rural areas and help them fulfil their medical dreams. The college plans on developing sustainable and cost-effective models to provide free medical education in rural areas by collaborating with CSR partners, Government Schemes like Ayushman Bharat Yojana and more.
