About NMKRV College:

Founded in 1973 by Sri Meda Kasturiranga Setty and Smt Nagarathnamma Meda Kasturiranga Setty, the institution was built on the belief that educating a girl child is equivalent to educating an entire family. Managed by RV Educational Institutions, the college upholds the principle that education should be accessible to every individual, regardless of social background. What began with just 150 students has, over the past five decades, evolved into a recognised centre of higher learning with more than 2,300 students and nearly 150 faculty members. The college continues to expand its infrastructure and academic resources, fostering a culture of research, innovation and lifelong learning across disciplines including arts, physical sciences, life sciences, commerce, management and languages.

The college was awarded the ‘College with Potential for Excellence’ award in 2010 by UGC, further strengthening its academic reputation. Distinguished faculty members have advanced the frontiers of research and teaching, while accomplished alumni continue to make meaningful contributions in diverse fields. With modern facilities, an active campus environment and strong industry linkages, the college provides students with wide-ranging opportunities for growth, innovation and success.

The institution secured autonomous status from the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 2005, which came into effect in 2006. In affiliation with Bangalore University, NMKRV College has built a reputation as one of the state’s leading institutions. As part of its autonomy, the college operates through a governing body, academic council and board of studies, ensuring efficient academic and administrative systems. The curriculum is revised every three years to reflect contemporary developments, while multiple skill-building and personal development initiatives go beyond the classroom. NMKRV College Sports:

The four and a half acres space provides ample area for students to indulge in their favourite sports which includes cricket, kabaddi, basketball, football etc. Furthermore, the dietary requirements of the players are also taken care of. The students are provided breakfast and snacks during their training hours with no additional cost. These students are also issued track suits, jerseys, sports shorts etc. as per their game’s requirements. Short term fitness programs like aerobics, yoga and karate for self-defense are frequently organized.

NMKRV College Cultural Activities:

A student's life has to be eventful, especially more so when it comes to the activities on campus; it shouldn’t solely be restricted to academics.
