Established in 1997, Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy is a constituent unit of Nitte University. The college is recognised by the Government of India and the Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP).
The college was established recognising the growing need and awareness of rehabilitation medicine in the field of health care. The college provides excellent facilities for practical training at the multispeciality Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital.
The faculty members of the college are supportive and dedicated to their work. The courses provided by the college are Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) in Neurological and Psychosomatic disorder, Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) in Musculoskeletal Disorders and Sports Physiotherapy, Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) in Obstetrics & Gynecology, Doctor of Philosophy and so on.

Musculoskeletal disorders, which means, disorders regarding muscle and bones are treated by physiotherapy, while Physiology focuses on increasing metabolism and vigour as the course of treatment along with rehabilitation.
