Realizing the need for superspeciality care and research in the field of Nephro Urology, the Government established the Institute of Nephro Urology consolidating the existing manpower and material in the Department of Medical Education.
This was further augmented by recruitment of additional manpower and procurement of modern equipment. The Institute has a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Bangalore Medical College. Institute of Nephro Urology is a premier organization promoting Health Care Services in the field of Nephrology and Urology.
Institute of Nephro Urology is an autonomous body of the Government of Karnataka, registered under Karnataka Societies Registration Act 1960 as “Institute of Nephro Urology", Karnataka, and is aided by the Government of Karnataka. It is a non-profit organization located in the campus of Victoria Hospital, Bangalore.
Scholarships are subject to Central/ State Government and College rules.
Institute of Nephro Urology strives to establish, maintain and develop an institute of international standards to provide relief from Nephro-Urology diseases.
It provides advanced treatment and comprehensive care to Nephro-Urology patients. The institution promotes, supports and encourages study, research and training programmes relating to prevention, diagnosis and treatment in the field of Nephro-Urology diseases.
It also provides treatment for the diseases related to Kidney Failure and Renal Transplant. Furthermore, the institution aims to create an institute of international standards in patient care and research. Admission is done on the basis of NEET SS (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Super Speciality Courses) scores. Candidates should be in possession of a recognized postgraduate medical degree(MD/MS/DNB) / Provisional Pass Certificate or an equivalent recognized qualification or likely to be in possession by July 2020, in accordance with eligible broad specialty qualifications for super specialty courses.
The laboratory offers multi disciplinary (Pathology, Microbiology and Biochemistry) investigative facilities with special emphasis on Urological and Nephrological conditions and is supervised by qualified doctors and technologists in the field. They provide 24 X 7 laboratory facilities
