DEPARTMENT OF PHYSIOTHERAPY, Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and Research

Sri Devaraj Urs Educational Trust was established with the focus on provisioning of Medical Education and Social Services. The trust started Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College at Tamaka, Kolar, in the year 1986. Through this college, the trust sought to make a significant contribution to Medical Education, Research and Health Care to the rural population. The physiotherapy department was established in the year 1996 with 2 therapists under RLJ hospital and an academic programme with BPT (Bachelor of physiotherapy) started in the year 2016. Physiotherapists treat medical conditions such as orthopedic dysfunctions, musculoskeletal disorders, post-operative care, trauma care, skin care, infections. The college is located 5 Km away from Kolar Town, Karnataka. The establishments of the University and the constituent institution are co-located at Tamaka village, Kolar with several buildings to accommodate the medical college, administrative offices, teaching/training facilities, hospital and hostels.SDUAHER is a vibrant campus both academically and culturally with added residential amenities. Hostel facilities, food courts, sports and fitness center, modern classrooms, libraries and student counselling centre assists the students throughout their learning journey. The Department of Physiotherapy provides an outstanding learning environment for Physiotherapy education to enhance quality of life, health, fitness and mobility related to human movement, and also to educate for client-centered, evidence-informed, inter-professional practice. SDUAHER implements effectively innovative programmes in teaching, and undertakes need based activities for the betterment of socially and educationally backward society.
