Boards
There are numerous Colleges and Universities in India offering an even greater number of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The Government of India cannot possibly individually oversee every college in India. To ensure a high standard of education and to simplify the overseeing process, this responsibility has been delegated to various State and Central regulatory bodies. These regulatory bodies, also known as Boards, plan the syllabus and set the standards for the development of institutes at various levels. These boards also have the duty to inspect and review institutions periodically to ensure that the standards defined by the Government are being followed diligently.
Some of the Boards conduct entrance examinations for admission into the courses under their purview. Setting of the eligibility criteria, handling the registration process, conducting the examination, and publishing the results are few of the responsibilities of these boards. Find all about the various Boards in India and the important role played by them in ensuring quality education is imparted to students.
