A significant decision has been made by the officials that from the next year, only the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) will be considered to get admission into engineering colleges. the Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering Colleges Association (KUPECA) member colleges will go by the results of COMEDK till this year only.
The eligibility criteria to get admission will be based on the performance in the CET exam. The fee for CET engineering seats in Karnataka will be increased by 10% from the academic year 2022-23. The hike will take effect in all government, aided, and unaided colleges.
The decision was made due to a large number of seats remaining empty in the colleges as students write multiple entrance exams. The move also makes students free from the stress of writing multiple exams.
