The Karnataka Board Exams 2021 for the II PUC candidates have been cancelled. The Education Minister S Suresh Kumar spoke on the same and announced the decision regarding the pending Karnataka SSLC, PUC exams for the year 2021.
The Minister shared that they had done all the preparation, but the students are divided on whether to give exams or not. Hence, the state has decided to cancel the 2nd PUC exams.
However, the Karnataka SSLC exams 2021 would be conducted in the 3rd week of July 2021. Speaking on the examination, the Minister said that the decision to scrap the 2nd PUC exam was taken after the feedback from all the stakeholders, since few students wanted the exam and few didn't.
For the Karnataka SSLC examination, there would be two exams conducted - one would be language while the other would be Multiple-Choice Question (MCQ) on Science, Mathematics, and Social Science subject. Only the vaccinated teachers will be invigilators, he added.
The Karnataka State government earlier had the intent to conduct both SSLC and 2nd PUC exams. However, after the CBSE Board decided to cancel the class 12th board exam, many students demanded the state government follow the same.
While announcing the cancellation of the CBSE 12th examination, the Prime Minister had requested all to be sympathetic towards the students. Speaking on the same, Minister Suresh Kumar said that the decision to scrap the 2nd PUC examination was taken, keeping the safety and concerns of the students in mind.
With the decision, Karnataka joins other states like Gujarat, Haryana, and even Uttar Pradesh to cancel the class 12th examination.
