Karnataka College Reopen Date Announced

The Karnataka government has decided to reopen all the state colleges from January 15th, 2021 (Friday). Classroom teaching for all the undergraduate and postgraduate programs of engineering, and diploma courses shall resume.
In a meeting held by Deputy Chief Minister, CN Ashwath Narayana, with other officials on January 11th, 2021, the decision for monitoring classes of final years was taken. Deputy Chief Minister, CN Ashwath Narayana, said that there will be mandatory COVID screening, face mask and social distancing in all the colleges.
As per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), NCC and NSS classes will be resumed. He said that the social welfare and backward class departments are instructed to follow SOPs in the hostels.
COVID testing camps will be set up for NCC students. SOPs will be placed in college canteens, libraries, sports, cultural, and educational activities.
Deputy CM also said that there have been arrangements made to distribute bus passes for the students. He visited college managements to expedite the process of issuance of bus passes to students.
Further discussion about holding exams offline are being carried out with the Vice Chancellors of private and government universities in Karnataka. Deputy CM said that the exam schedule will be issued at the earliest.
