The JEE 2020 Main results were announced on September 11, Friday by the National Test Agency (NTA). The candidates can now download their marks cards from the official website at www.jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates who have cleared the JEE Main exam are now eligible to apply for JEE Advanced. The registrations for the JEE Advanced will begin from September 12, Saturday.

Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main, for admissions in various engineering colleges was conducted from September 1 to September 6 in India, along with amid COVID-19 precautions and social distancing measures. The paper 1 is for the admission to B.Tech/ BE programs in IIT, NIT and various Central Funded Technical Colleges (CFTI's).

24 candidates have scored 100% in paper 1 of JEE Main, whereas 8 candidates are from Telangana who feature in the top 24, followed by 5 from New Delhi, 4 from Rajasthan, 3 from Andhra Pradesh, 2 from Haryana, 1 from Maharashtra and 1 from Gujarat.

Based on the results, the top 2,45,000 candidates are eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced examination, which is the one-step exam to get admission into 23 premier Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) institutes.

The exam has been postponed twice previously due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The scenes at the exam centres across the country witnessed staggered entry and exit for the candidates,  facilitating sanitizers at the gate, distribution of masks, maintaining social distancing as candidates queued up to attend their examinations.

Increasing the number of examination centres, alternate seating arrangements, more scattered candidates per exam room along with staggered entry and exit are some of the important straps that were initiated by the National Testing Agency to ensure and conduct a safe exam for all students.
