Final Year University Examination Postponed to September End.
HRD Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank released the UGC guidelines for university examination. The final year examinations are not cancelled. The examination is postponed to September end. The decision is taken by the UGC after consulting the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. It is said that the decision is taken in view of the safety, career progression and placements of the students.
The new guidelines gave a choice of offline (Pen and Paper), online mode or blended mode of examinations. Students can choose as per their flexibility and suitability. The examinations are compulsory for the students who have a backlog. In case a student fails to attend the examination, they can get one more opportunity to appear in special examinations for such a paper/ course, which will be conducted by the university. Guidelines for intermediate semesters will remain the same as per the UGC examination guidelines 2020, which was released on April 29, 2020.
The expert committee was requested by UGC to revisit the guidelines and suggested the option of examinations. They understand the importance of conducting the examinations, especially for final semester students. However, students have more time to get prepared.
