What is KMAT?
KMAT stands for Karnataka Management Aptitude Test. The national-level exam is conducted by the Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA).
The exam allows candidates to seek admissions to the following courses:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM)
- Master of Computer Application (MCA)
Candidates can seek admissions into over 189 colleges in Bangalore and Karnataka.

KMAT Registration:
Candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps for KMAT Registration:
Step 1: Candidates have to visit the official website of KMAT.
Step 2: They have to click on "Apply Now" in the menu on the right side of the KMAT website's homepage
Step 3: Candidates have to click on "Register (New Candidate)".
Step 4: Selection of the courses need to be done along with entering the First Name, Middle Name, and Last Name.
Step 5: Candidates need to enter their date of birth along with their age as of May 31st, 2021. Also, they need to select their Gender from the dropdown list.
Step 6: Candidates need to select their Domicile.
Step 7: Valid Email ID and Mobile Number should be submitted by the candidates.
Step 8: Candidates have to enter the Captcha Code and check on the box that is for acceptance to all Terms and Regulations for the KMAT Registration Process.
Step 9: They should crosscheck the details that have been entered and hit on the green button that says, "Submit and Continue".
Step 10: Candidates will be sent an OTP to their registered Email ID and Password. They will be sent their KMAT Application Number and Password to their registered email ID and Mobile Number on successful submission of the OTP.
Candidates should note that they can register for only 1 course at a time. Therefore, if they wish to apply for both MBA and MCA, they need to register for the courses separately.
They will need to fill-up a separate application form, and they will be issued a separate admit card for the same.
How to fill up the KMAT Application Form?
Step 1: Candidates have to visit the official website of KMAT.
Step 2: They have to click on the Green Tab "Login (Already Registered)", and they will be directed to the Login page.
Step 3: KMAT Application Number and password need to be entered in the required place. Further, they need to enter the captcha code and hit "Login".
Step 4: Candidates need to enter their Personal Details, Caste Details, Communication Address, Education Details, and Work Experience Details on the KMAT Application Form.
Step 5: They need to select their respective KMAT Exam Centre.
Step 6: Candidates have to upload the required documents.
Step 7: After all the above steps, they need to pay the KMAT Fees.
Step 8: Candidates should go through the entire application form correctly and then go for the final submission. There won't be a correction window for the KMAT Application Form, and the details cannot be changed after submission.
KMAT Application Fee:
Candidates need to pay Rs. 800 (including GST) for each of the applied courses.

Language Comprehension:
- Candidates should prepare for the 3 important topics in this section, i.e. Vocabulary, Grammar, and Comprehension properly. These 3 sections form the crux of this section.
- To tackle Reading Comprehension, candidates should inculcate a regular habit of reading extensively. This shall help them to go about this section properly.
- Candidates should try out new resources to prepare for this section. Apart from their course module, they should read newspapers, magazines, and novels that will give them information about various topics and help them develop an interest in various kinds of topics.
- Vocabulary building forms an important part of the preparation process. This can be done by noting down new words every day and preparing a thesaurus.
Mathematical Skills:
- Candidates should prepare a list of topics in which they are weak and strong to prepare accordingly.
- Topics such as arithmetic and geometry are very crucial for such examinations. These can be tricky and can confuse the candidates; hence, special attention should be given to such topics.
- Important formulas and concepts of the topics should be looked into very carefully. Candidates should ensure that they are well-versed with the basics of the topics.
- Candidates should practise Data Interpretation regularly as it's an easy topic, but they need to be careful with the values given in the graphs or tables.

- Basic Aptitude or Logical Reasoning is a tricky section that can test the student's merit across multiple parameters. Hence, candidates should practise the topics from multiple sources as it will help them get a better understanding of the types of questions that can be asked.
- Verbal Reasoning and Critical Reasoning forms an important part of the section. These should be looked into precisely.

KMAT Admit Card:
Candidates can download the KMAT Admit Card by following the below-mentioned steps:
Step 1: Visit the official website of KMAT.
Step 2: Click on the link "Download Admit Card".
Step 3: Enter your Application Number and Password and enter the Captcha Code.
Step 4: Hit on "Login".
Step 5: The KMAT Admit Card will be displayed on the screen.
Step 6: Candidates should go through the details on the KMAT Admit Card properly. If there aren't any discrepancies on the admit card, they should download it and take a printout.
Candidates can enter the KMAT Exam Centres only with their Admit Card and a Government ID Proof.
KMAT Results:
Candidates can view and download their scorecard by following the below-mentioned steps:
Step 1: Visit the official website of KMAT.
Step 2: Click on the link "KMAT Results".
Step 3: Enter your Application Number and Password.
Step 4: Click on Login.
Step 5: KMAT Results will be displayed on the candidate's screen.
Step 6: They should check the details that have been mentioned on the KMAT Scorecard. If they don't spot any errors, they can download the Scorecard and take a printout of the same.
Admission Process after KMAT Results:
After the KMAT Results have been declared, the respective colleges shall invite the candidates for the selection process.
Candidates have to clear the cut-offs of the respective colleges that shall make them part of the further selection process.
The selection process of the KMAT colleges shall consist of the following:
Group Discussion (GD): Candidates will be paired up in a group of 8 to 10 people, wherein they will discuss a topic and reach a conclusion.
The topics can be varied; hence, candidates need to read extensively to prepare for this process.

- Those with work experience can also apply for the courses. They have to furnish accurate details of their work experience at the time of admission.
- There is no age limit for the candidates.
For MCA students:
- Candidates must have completed their Bachelor's Degree in the field of Computer Science. They can also be in the final year of their undergraduate course.
- They must have studied mathematics during their 12th Standard or undergraduation.
- Candidates have to score a minimum of 50% in their undergraduate course.
- Candidates with work experience can also apply for the exam.
