Candidates will be awarded a Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) Certificate after qualifying for the Karnataka TET exam. The validity of the certificate is 7 years.
The exam is conducted in 2 sessions. Paper I is for candidates who want to teach in the primary classes (I-V), and Paper II is to teach upper primary classes (VI-VIII).
Candidates who want to teach students of primary and upper primary classes (I-VIII) can appear for both papers.

KARTET Exam Centres:
The exam will be conducted in 52 exam centres across Karnataka. The exam centre chosen during the application process remains final. No changes are allowed under any circumstances.

Eligibility Criteria
KARTET Eligibility Criteria for Part I (Teacher for Primary Classes I to V):
- Candidates must have graduated from class 12th with a minimum aggregate score of 50%.
- Must have secured an aggregate score of 45% in their Diploma in Elementary Education or Bachelors of Education.
- Candidates appearing for their final year of Diploma in Education or Bachelor in Education can also apply.
KARTET Eligibility Criteria for Part II (Teacher for Secondary Classes VI to VIII)
- Candidates must have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate score.
- Should have graduated from Diploma in Education or Bachelor in Education with 45%.
- Candidates appearing for their final year of Diploma in Education or Bachelor in Education can also apply.
General Eligibility:
- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- The lower age limit is 18 years. The upper age limit is 35 to 40 years.
- Candidates from the SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories are eligible for relaxation in the upper age limit.
