What is JEE Main?

Joint Entrance Exam Main or JEE Main is a national-level entrance examination for candidates aiming for admissions in the following courses: 

  • Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech)
  • Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch)
  • Bachelor of Planning (B.Plan)

Candidates have to clear the JEE Main cutoff to qualify for JEE Advanced, which will help them secure seats in leading Engineering and Architectural institutions in India based on their All India Rank (AIR). 

Following are the types of institutions that accept the exam scores: 

  • Indian Institute of Technology (IITs)
  • National Institute of Technology (NITs)
  • Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs)
  • Other Government-funded Institutions
  • Private Institutions

Postponed April Session or Session 3 will be conducted from July 20th to 27th, 2021. While the Postponed May Session or Session 4 will be conducted from August 26th to September 2nd, 2021.

    - No, the syllabus for JEE Main 2021 hasn't been reduced. The number of questions has been increased to 90, out of which candidates have to answer only 75. 

  3. How many times can I answer JEE Main this year?
    - You can take a maximum of 3 attempts for JEE Main 2021. 

  4. Is the JEE Main exam mainly required to undertake JEE Advanced 2021?
