What is JEE Advanced?

JEE Advanced is one of the most popular engineering entrance examinations in India. It is conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology. Qualifying this examination helps the students to get into some of the best engineering colleges in India. Top institutes like IITs, NITs, IIITs, and others grant admission to students based on the scores achieved in this examination. Aspirants are ranked according to their marks in exam for the All India Rank (AIR). Candidates can also seek admissions in Bangalore through their JEE Advanced AIR and get into top engineering colleges in Bangalore. The exam is conducted by one of the 7 zonal IITs every year. JEE Advanced will be conducted by IIT Kharagpur. JEE Advanced exam will be conducted on May 18, 2025.

To qualify for JEE Advanced, aspirants have to clear the JEE Main. They have to be among the top 2,50,000 candidates who have appeared for JEE Main. Candidates who have cleared the cut-off criteria in JEE Main 2022 can also appear for JEE Advanced this year. Apart from this, the 20% female quota in each IIT has been removed, and the institutes will be individually deciding the quota. In addition to the female quota, 15% of seats have been reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST). Those belonging to the Persons with Disability (PwD) also enjoy a 5% reservation in the institutes.
