The All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) conducts the AIIMS PG Exam twice every year. AIIMS conducts the exam for students in two sessions known as the January and July sessions. PG aspirants look forward to this prestigious exam to get enrolled in the best medical science colleges in the country. AIIMS conducts the AIIMS PG Registration process for both its January Session and July Session. 

AIIMS also lays down a list of eligibility criteria, which need to be met by the candidates, before they start their registration process. The details of the eligibility criteria for the registration process are discussed below.

AIIMS PG 2021 January exam will be conducted for the academic year 2020. The exam will be conducted in November. The registration process for the Exam will commence from the 4th week of June 2020. The entire registration process will get over in October 2020. The registration process is divided into 2 phases for the different PG programs that are offered by the prestigious institution.

AIIMS PG 2021 Eligibility Criteria:

Before starting with the AIIMS PG 2021 Application process, candidates should look into the eligibility criteria for the exam. It will help them to gauge their candidature before going through the registration process. 

Age Limit: No age limit

Below is the list of AIIMS PG 2021 Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates interested in PG programs of MD, MS, M.Ch, DM, or MD (Hospital Administrator, should have done an MBBS degree from any of the recognised colleges by the Medical Council of India (MCI). Aspirants of M.Ch can also hold an MS degree from any of the recognised universities of India. 
  • MDS aspirants should hold a BDS degree from any of the colleges recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI).
  • Aspirants of the fellowship program should hold an MD, MS, M.Ch, or DM degree from an MCI recognised university in India. 
  • Aspirants need to hold a Certificate of Registration, which is to be issued by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or the Dental Council (DCI). The same can also be issued by the  State Medical Council (SMC)/State Dental Council (SDC).
  • Candidates should have completed their 1-year rotary internship as of 30th January 2021. 
  • Minimum percentage required is 55% for the General Category and 50% for candidates belonging to the SC/ ST category. 

AIIMS PG 2021 Application Form:

Registration for the AIIMS PG 2021 Examination shall begin with the filling up of the Application Form. The details of the application form are given below:

  • The AIIMS PG Registration for the AIIMS PG 2021 Examination is done through the Prospective Applicants Advanced Registration (PAAR) process. It's a process that involves a 2-way registration scheme. Therefore, the process consists of an initial registration process and the final registration process. 
  • It is an online-based application process. 
  • During the initial registration process, candidates have to fill up their basic details such as Name, Age, Gender, Address, and others. In this process, candidates have to upload their images too.  
  • The final registration process deals in filling up the qualification, selection of the exam centre and payment of fees.

Rules to be followed for selection of AIIMS PG 2021 Examination Centre: 

Following are the rules which a candidate should follow when he/she has to select his/ her preferred examination centre:

  • Candidates are given the option to choose their preferred examination centre only at the time of the AIIMS PG 2021 Final Registration process. The preferred centre gets allocated to them only when they pay the fees for the AIIMS PG 2021 Registration process.
  • Centres will be allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis.
  • Once the candidate has chosen a city, he/she cannot change it. 

Therefore, it is recommended that candidates should be careful while choosing their examination centres as a correction window is not provided by the examination conducting authority. 

Rules to be followed at the AIIMS PG 2021 Examination Centre:

Following are the rules which need to be followed when candidates appear for the AIIMS PG 2021 Exam at any of the AIIMS PG 2021 Examination Centre:

  • Candidates should carry their AIIMS PG 2021 Admit Card on the day of the examination along with a Government Identity Card. 
  • Candidates should refrain from carrying electronic gadgets such as Calculators, Mobile Phones, Smart Watches, etc.
  • Sharp objects like knives and blades are prohibited. 
  • Water bottles, eatables, and any kind of beverages are not allowed inside the examination hall. 
  • Candidates carrying bags and wallets must do so at their own risk, as there are no provisions provided for storing them. 
  • Last but not least, candidates are requested to reach the AIIMS PG 2021 Examination Centre at least 1 hour before the start of the examination.

AIIMS PG 2021 Answer Key:

The AIIMS PG 2021 Examination will be conducted online; therefore, the answer keys for the AIIMS PG 2021 Exam shall not be released. 

However, candidates can get access to answer keys that would be released by some of the educational institutions. Candidates can refer to the answer key released by these institutions to get an idea of the answers to the questions that they have answered. 

AIIMS PG 2021 Examination Result:

AIIMS, the conducting body of the exam, will release the AIIMS PG 2021 Result 1-week after the examination. The AIIMS PG Result will be available on the official website of AIIMS. 

Candidates will need the following details to log-in to their respective dashboard, created at the time of registration. It will allow them to check their result 1-week after the AIIMS PG Exam Date

AIIMS PG 2021 Selection Procedure:

Candidates have to secure a minimum of 50 percentile to make themselves available for selection. Candidates will be called for counselling based on the AIIMS PG 2021 Cutoffs. After each round of counselling, the cutoffs for the next rounds are released. 

AIIMS PG 2021 Counselling:

The counselling session consists of 4-rounds before which a mock counselling session is conducted to make the candidates familiar with the session. The AIIMS PG 2021 counselling will be held online. Usually, the candidates are called 8 times the number of available seats. All the possibilities of their preferred programs and colleges are discussed in these counselling sessions. 

Candidates have to register themselves, for these sessions, through their dashboard. They have to choose their preferred programs and the institution. After candidates lock their options, the authorities shall release the allotment structure for those number of seats. 

Candidates have to give confirmation, whether they will join the seat or not.

AIIMS PG Examination Contract

Candidates seeking admission into the PG course of AIIMS have to adhere to a contract. This rule has been enforced to prevent discrepancies during the selection process. The details of the contract are listed down below:

  • The junior residents need to serve a minimum of 3 years in contract service. 
  • On taking up the allotted seat, the candidate has to submit his/her original documents of the institute. The original documents shall be stored with the college and will be returned to the candidates once they complete their course. If in case, the candidate needs the documents before the stipulated date, then they have to pay an amount of Rs. 1,00,000. 
  • If candidates want to withdraw their admission, then they can do so by paying an amount of Rs. 1,00,000 as compensation to the authorities.
