Sri Devaraj Urs Educational Trust was established in Tamaka, Kolar, Karnataka, India, in the year 1986 by a group of philanthropic, dedicated and service-minded people for the people of a rural and backward community under the able guidance and chairmanship of Sri R.L.Jalappa, Union Minister of that time.
The organization's prime aim was to work for the educational, cultural, and socio-economic furtherance and upliftment of the backward community.
Sri Devaraj Urs College of Nursing was started in the year 1995 by Sri DevarajUrs Educational Trust. College is situated in Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and Research, Deemed University campus, Tamaka, to the eastern part of Kolar, on Bangalore-Chennai Highway-NH4, well connected by road, rail and air due to its proximity to Bangalore.

Sri Devaraj Urs College of Nursing hosts a wide range of facilities and equips students with qualities that shape them to become responsible and well-trained nurses in the future. The institution has spacious, well-equipped labs for Fundamentals of Nursing, OBG Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Community Health Nursing, and Nutrition.
