Established in 2004, National Institute of Unani Medicine (NIUM) Bangalore is an autonomous college run by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. It is an autonomous organisation formed provides undergraduate, postgraduate, teaching, training and research in the Unani System of Medicine.
The college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and recognised by Ministry of AYUSH. The institute organises academic events, workshops, guest lectures and seminars for the students. To enhance the research standards of the students, the college has a collaboration with NIMHANS Bangalore and Al-Ameen College of Pharmacy in Bangalore.
The college has an OPD wing and 180 bedded hospital that provides clinical services to the patients. This hospital acts as a teaching hospital where the students can get hands-on training from the doctors.
