The Research department is proactive in original research being undertaken by various members of the faculty. There are 9 ongoing funded research projects currently handled by the department. The research efforts are funded by both Government and non-government agencies such as RGUHS, ICMR, PFI, TDF and DST.
Musculoskeletal Disorders and Sports (MPT-MSS), Neurological and Psychosomatic Disorders (MPT-NPD), Cardiorespiratory Disorders (MPT-CRD), Pediatric Physiotherapy (MPT-PP), and Community Physiotherapy (MPT-CP) are the specializations under the Master of Physiotherapy programme.
ITI Layout Bus Stop is the nearest bus stop to MS Ramaiah Medical College of Physiotherapy, which is a 10 minute walk from campus.
The majority of physiotherapy graduates work as physiotherapists, helping a range of patients with physical difficulties to improve their health and quality of life. Opportunities are available in hospitals, physiotherapy practices, sports clinics, football clubs, special schools and nursing homes.
During the 6-month compulsory rotating internship, students spend time in the Paediatrics, OBG and Orthopaedics wards, General Medicine and General Surgery wards as well as Neurology and Neurosurgery wards. Community posting is also mandatory during this time.
