Realizing the need for superspeciality care and research in the field of Nephro Urology, the Government established the Institute of Nephro Urology consolidating the existing manpower and material in the Department of Medical Education.
This was further augmented by recruitment of additional manpower and procurement of modern equipment. The Institute has a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Bangalore Medical College. Institute of Nephro Urology - Allied Health Department promotes Health Care Services in the field of Allied Health Sciences.
Institute of Nephro Urology - Allied Health Department is an autonomous body of the Government of Karnataka, registered under Karnataka Societies Registration Act 1960 as “Institute of Nephro Urology", Karnataka, and is aided by the Government of Karnataka. It is a non-profit organization located in the campus of Victoria Hospital, Bangalore.
Scholarships are subject to central/state government and college rules.

The Institute of Nephro Urology strives to establish, maintain and develop an institute of international standards. It provides advanced treatment and comprehensive care to patients. The institution promotes, supports and encourages study, research and training programmes relating to prevention, diagnosis and treatment in the field of Allied Health Sciences. It also provides treatment for diseases related to Kidney Failure and Renal Transplant. Furthermore, the institution aims to create an institute of international standards in patient care and research. An Allied Health and Basic Sciences degree will prepare the student for leadership and professional practice in health related settings such as Health Service Manager, Physician’s Assistant, Physical Therapist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Radiation Therapist, Respiratory Therapist, Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and many more.The program includes a foundation in general education as well as a broad understanding of health care environments and delivery systems through the health science core curriculum

You can work as a Nephrologist, Clinical Coordinator, Pulmonary Specialist, Medical Technician, Dialysis Therapist and as a Dialysis Technician, with an education in Renal Dialysis Technology.
