  • Principles Related to Practical Chemistry

For students who are opting for B. Arch and B. Planning, they have to prepare for an Aptitude test with Mathematics.

You can find the complete syllabus pdf here.

Students who are opting for B. Arch need to give an offline Architectural Drawing examination whereas, the students who are opting for B. Planning need to opt for Planning Based Objective Type Exam along with Mathematics and Aptitude.

Make a list of Important Topics

You cannot spend the whole day studying the same chapter. Therefore, it?s better to make a list of important subjects by going through the old question papers. Here are the important topics you need to study for Physics based on the maximum weight given in the chapters.

  1. Electrodynamics

  2. Mechanics

  3. Modern Physics

  4. Heat & Thermodynamics

  5. SHM & Waves

  6. Optics

For Mathematics, the following are the important topics that you absolutely need to cover:

  1. Differential Calculus

  2. Integral Calculus

  3. Coordinate Geometry

  4. Coordinate Geometry (3-D)

  5. Matrix & Determinants

  6. Probability

  7. Matrix & Determinants

  8. Trigonometry

For Chemistry, don't miss out on the following topics at all:

  1. Organic Chemistry-II [Alkyl Halide, Alcohol & Ether (Reaction Mechanism), Aromatic Compounds, Biomolecules, Carbohydrates, Amino Acids and Polymers, Carbonyl Compounds, Environmental chemistry, Grignard Reagent, Reduction, Oxidation & Hydrolysis]

  2. Physical Chemistry-I [Atomic Structure & Nuclear Chemistry, Ionic Equilibrium, Mole Concept, Thermodynamics and Thermochemistry]

  3. Physical Chemistry-II [Chemical Kinetics, Electrochemistry, Solid State, Solution & Colligative Properties, Surface Chemistry]

  4. Inorganic Chemistry-I [Chemical Bonding, Periodic Table & Periodicity in Properties, S-Block]

Books that you can't miss reading

If you are preparing for JEE Mathematics, there is nothing better than NCERT.  For most of the CBSE students, NCERT is the bible for Mathematics. As most of the questions in your 12th board examination are from the textbook.

Apart from that, these are the few books you need to absolutely get when you start preparing for the examination:

Physics:

  • Concepts of Physics Vol I and II

Author: H.C. Verma

  • Fundamentals of Physics

Author: Halliday, Resnick and Walker

  • Problems in General Physics

Author: I.E. Irodov

Chemistry:

  • Numerical Chemistry

Author: P. Bahadur

  • Inorganic Chemistry

Author:  J.D. Lee

  • Organic Chemistry

Author: Paula Bruice Yurkanis

  • Organic Chemistry

Author: Morrison and Boyd

Mathematics:

  • Trigonometry

Author: S. L. Loney

  • Higher Algebra

Author: Hall and Knight

  • Coordinate Geometry

Author: S. L. Loney

  • Problems in Calculus of One Variable

Author: I.A. Maron

For B.Arch students, these are the few books are quite helpful:

  • A Complete Self Study Guide for B.Arch Entrance Examination (English)

Author: P.K Mishra, Arihant Publications

  • Verbal & Non-Verbal Reasoning Book

Author: R.S. Aggarwal

  • Architecture Entrance Book

Author: P.K Mishra

Solving previous year question paper

There?s nothing better than solving the previous year question papers on your own. It helps you to understand the level of difficulty. It is important to know the questions that were asked previously in the exam because that will help you find out the repetitive questions.

Online mock test to test your knowledge

Finally, never underestimate the value of a mock test before the actual examination. Mock test online or otherwise will help you understand where you stand in the level of your preparation. You probably need to give a hundred mock tests before you are completely ready for the actual test.

Preparing for a competitive examination can be tough but don't worry. There are thousands of students studying for the same examination right now. Many more have already passed this phase and studying in their dream college. If you have consistently studied and done a good revision, then you can definitely score high.
