The BAMS admission process in India consists of two phases.
Aspirants who wish to pursue Ayurvedic courses in Bangalore or anywhere else in the country must first clear a national-level entrance exam known as the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Undergraduates (NEET-UG) as part of the BAMS admission qualifications. Candidates must have completed their 10+2/ 2nd PU/ equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 40-50% (based on the category of students) to apply for the exam.
Candidates who have cleared the entrance exam must later participate in the BAMS counselling process. This seat allocation process will be held at both the All-India level and the state level. The All-India counselling process is conducted by the AYUSH Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC) for admission to Ayurvedic colleges across the country, while the state counselling process will be conducted by the respective state authority for admission to Ayurvedic colleges in the particular state. Admissions to BAMS colleges in Karnataka through the state counselling process is managed and conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).
